In an industry overwhelming with “that’s already been done” and “that can’t be improved”, it becomes increasingly more difficult to address, “What are you doing that’s NEW?”. It is our mindset that with well thought out and innovative products, we can answer just that.

Introducing, the Ibex Release from Evolution Outdoors, with a completely new concept in hinge-style releases. (Multiple Patents Pending)

Upon researching how archers shoot releases we found an unintentional, yet common, form in which archers tend to rotate a hinge release in their hand to get it to “click”. Turning a standard hinge in your hand pulls the head of the release away from the original anchor point, thus changing the anchor point which subsequently moves the impact point of the arrow.

Using a proper pull through technique doesn’t cause the head of the release to move creating more consistent shooting. Unfortunately, only approximately 10% of archers use a proper pull through method. This is how the concept of the Ibex Release was born. We created a hinge release that pivots in the handle (not the head) thus allowing the handle to swivel in your hand while allowing the neck and head to stay in the original anchor position for more consistent shooting. The Ibex Release has the same impact point whether shot with the proper pull through method or the more widely used swivel method because the neck and head stay consistent throughout the shot. The NEW Ibex Release stands alone as a state-of-the-art concept in releases.

ABOUT THE "CLICK"

The Ibex release was intentionally designed with a tactile feel, unlike other releases that produce a click sound. Instead of a loud click when the hook drops off the shelf, the Ibex features a vibration at the shelf. This unique design allows archers to reset their shot process or let down by going back over the shelf. The vibration feature helps avoid unnecessary noise and panic when hunters are close to animals.

Love this release! Fits in the hand well. Love the fact you can hook it to the D-loop. Like the adjustability and included hardware. Also, this release is very forgiving for a hinge release due to its design. What else can you ask for? Love it!

Honest thoughts and feedback

The good.. this is an incredible idea. Clipping on a loop with a hinge release is awesome for hunting. It clips on securely and the design is great. It gives me confidence this won’t go tumbling out of the tree. The case it comes with is top notch and an awesome feature. The release is cool clean and simple for the most part.

Not so good.. the thumb barrel and attachment system is an afterthought. It moves/flexes in a way that it shouldn’t. The shape is okay. I can deal with it but it’s not the most comfortable hinge for me personally. The “click” is an unnecessary feature in my opinion. Animals will not notice your hinge click. The “click” or vibration is not all that practical.

For the price I’d expect it to be more refined but it’s on par with similarly priced products in the archery industry.

Thank you for your detailed review! We're thrilled to hear that you find the hinge release and clipping mechanism excellent for hunting. The confidence and top-notch quality you experienced are exactly what we aim to provide.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the thumb barrel and attachment system. While we can't confirm if your purchase was made directly through us, it's worth noting that we've redesigned and updated these components in all units since your purchase. Please reach out to our support team for a replacement.
Regarding the hinge click, our experience shows that many animals do react to the sound. However, you can adjust the seers to eliminate the click and vibration if you prefer a quieter release.
Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate it and are always here to help improve your experience!
